A Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) A Diploma in Chemical Engineering / Civil Engineering or relevant equivalent qualification (NQF Level 6).
A valid driver's license 2-3 years' relevant supervisory experience in water.
Key performance areas:
Plan the work in accordance with priorities, calculate and check materials/equipment and/or the availability of resources to execute actions Schedule, prioritize and allocate personnel resources, communicate specific priorities, workload and resource availability to the immediate superior and/or seek guidelines on alternative actions and, measures for execution
Monitor attendance/conduct and output and address deviations from agreed performance indicators through meetings/counselling and/or other approved methods designed to improve and motivate personnel Address workplace conflict/conduct through the co-ordination of consultative processes an implementation of specific disciplinary procedures
Attend to specific enquiries/complaints received from the immediate superior and conduct inspections of plant, network systems and determine maintenance, repair requirements Interact with personnel with respect to the availability/hon-availability of materials necessary for scheduled works, communicate with the immediate superior on material/stock availability or alternative and/or reschedule work programmes to prevent delays
Establish the appropriateness of new methods of installation, maintenance and repair of pipelines and storage units, assess cost effectiveness to change units/ infrastructure against improvement to service and, develop standard operating procedures
Participate in the commission of new plants/equipment for the distribution of water and wastewater, test and adjust operating settings for and approve performance parameters.
