Forestry Service Aid at Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment

Requirements & Qualifications

• NQF Level 1 or relevant equivalent qualification.

Duties

• Render Silviculture functions within plantations and forests. Conduct the marking of plots, counting and marking of trees. Update a variety of registers regarding the aspects of work. Fight forest/veld fire or perform prescribed burning task. Render harvesting services.
• Monitor the propagation of activities. Produce and process poles (e.g. cutting of poles, drying of poles, and sampling of poles).

• Skills: Good communication skills, planning interpersonal skills and listening skills.
