    Front Line Manager

    Accountabilities

    • Accountable for end to end agenda of the shift:
    • Cost, Delivery, Productivity, Morale, Quality, Safety
    • Improve all QCDM KPI metrices
    • Lead and implement foundational WCM elements such as:
    • 5 S, Visual management, Team Work, Focus improvements, Autonomous maintenance, Lean six sigma experience
    • Lead all production and maintenance teams on shift
    • Execute all labour relations and represent the company at CCMA level
    • Implement clear talent development processes that are traced and implemented
    • Implement and manage clear performance management processes
    • Submit accurate monthly, weekly and daily report reports – SAP Knowledge, Lims (advantageous)
    • Manage the Time and attendance system
    • Ensure that plant and line scheduling is accurate and the required resources are deployed to meet the schedule
    • Prepare and submit all financial Reports related to production order variance / material usage variances.
    • Managing, implementing and adhering to Internal controls (proof of execution)
    • Drive inventory management (raw materials, work in progress and finished goods)
    • Process yields – material conversion efficiencies (basic, film, oil, seasoning, corrugates) etc
    • Ensure the implementation of R&D or NPD trials
    • The management of quality product through continual monitoring of the line performance through the optimization of quality vs. cost relationship.
    • Ensure that development and training needs of FLEs and direct reports are fulfilled.
    • Ensure that discipline is maintained through the effective use of the disciplinary code and adherence to the PepsiCo Code of Conduct.
    • Maximise quality cases produced per hour.
    • Accurately compile and analyse daily production line reports in a timely manner.
    • Evaluate and categorize all downtime occurring during a shift.
    • Prepare a weekly performance report and feedback performance-related issues to the site leadership team.
    • Analyze the weekly direct cost variance report and reconcile previous production week performance to plan.
    • Check and ensure that all housekeeping, food safety and occupational safety standards are adhered to.
    • Improve plant audit performance and work environment.
    • Direct all employees and SET’s in identifying and correcting any unsafe conditions.
    • Identify opportunities to improve production processes and/or operating methods

    Key Skills / Experience Required
    Qualifications
    /Requirements

    • Bachelors Degree in Operations Management or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
    • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and Process Engineering experience (Advantageous)
    • 5 years experience within a manufacturing environment with WCM experience
    • 5 years management experience – production and/or maintenance teams
    • 5 Years Labour Relations Experience (CCMA experience advantageous)
    • 5 Years experience in talent development and performance management
    • ERP System knowledge – SAP, LIMS, Kronos
    • 5 Years Experience in plant and line scheduling as well as deploy resources to meet the schedule
    • 3 Years Financial Reporting: production order variance / material usage variances.
    • Execution and testing of internal controls
    • Basic warehouse and logistics experience
    • 3 Years Experience in running and/or leading in R&D or NPD trials
    • Knowledge of quality assurance, employee health and safety, environmental and food safety standards and systems.
