Fund Accountant at Robert Walters

What you'll do:

• As a Fund Accountant, your role will be multifaceted, encompassing a range of responsibilities from reviewing financial statement packages to coordinating the delivery of investment documentation. Your ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success in this role.
• Review quarterly and annual financial statement packages including investor reporting.
• Manage internal and external audit requests.
• Coordinate delivery of investment documentation to fund administrator and depositary.
• Respond to investor audit confirmations and ad hoc queries.
• Assist with managing cash expenditures and maintain fund budgets with service providers and internal approvals.
• Work closely with senior team members on accounting and operational issues.

What you bring:

• The ideal candidate for this Fund Accountant position is someone who brings a professional accountancy qualification along with 4-6 years of relevant experience in fund accounting and private equity.
• Professional accountancy qualification CA (SA) / ACCA or equivalent.
• 4-6 years of combined Big 4 and private or relevant work experience in fund accounting and private equity.
• Understanding of valuation, consolidation, partner allocations, distribution waterfalls, IRRs, investor multiples.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage upwards.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly.
