As a Fund Accountant, your role will be multifaceted, encompassing a range of responsibilities from reviewing financial statement packages to coordinating the delivery of investment documentation. Your ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success in this role.
Review quarterly and annual financial statement packages including investor reporting.
Manage internal and external audit requests.
Coordinate delivery of investment documentation to fund administrator and depositary.
Respond to investor audit confirmations and ad hoc queries.
Assist with managing cash expenditures and maintain fund budgets with service providers and internal approvals.
Work closely with senior team members on accounting and operational issues.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Fund Accountant position is someone who brings a professional accountancy qualification along with 4-6 years of relevant experience in fund accounting and private equity.
Professional accountancy qualification CA (SA) / ACCA or equivalent.
4-6 years of combined Big 4 and private or relevant work experience in fund accounting and private equity.
Understanding of valuation, consolidation, partner allocations, distribution waterfalls, IRRs, investor multiples.
Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage upwards.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly.
