    Game Development - Paid Internship Programme

    Description
    Carry1st, has recently partnered with CrazyLabs, a global leader in hyper casual mobile gaming, to launch an incubator in Cape Town to train local talent to become game designers and developers.

    Starting in September, the inaugural CrazyHub Cape Town will:

    • Host 25-30 high-potential game designers / developers (students or professionals) in a studio space in Cape Town
    • Train these talented individuals to ideate, design, and launch mobile games over a 4-6 month intensive program
    • Provide a platform for them to scale their games to millions of users worldwide through a publishing agreement with CrazyLabs
    • The program is intended to be fully free - expenses will be paid (with stipend), curriculum will be provided, and games developed through the program will be put through CrazyLabs’ own quality assurance and market testing process. Games that do well will have a chance to be published globally by CrazyLabs with a cash prize and royalties into perpetuity.

    A first intake of applications has already been received. For the second intake, the timelines are:

    Applications open: May 24
    Applications close: July 15
    Interviews with applicants: July 1 - August 30
    Finalists announced: August 31
    Start of program: September 15
    Requirements
    We’re inviting potential participants who meet the following requirements:

    • Desire to get into hyper-casual mobile game development.
    • All applications must be above 18 years of age.
    • All applicants are requested to send a link to their game portfolio.
    • All applicants are requested to submit a home assignment (for non-commercial purposes).
    • Teams must include at least 1 Unity developer, can be a single member or a team of up to 3 members.
    • 1 team member must be able to communicate in English
    • You must be willing and able to join the program full-time for 3 months, with an option for extension to 6 months.
    • You and your team must attend the hub program physically and come to Cape Town on a daily basis.
