General Assistant - Tonga at Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs

MINIMUM - COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques (sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, disinfecting, waxing) for floors, offices, boardrooms, and restrooms.
• Proper application, and storage of cleaning chemicals and detergents.

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 10 or ABET Level 4. Able to read and write. Working experience as cleaner in the public service will be an added advantage.
• Good interpersonal relations, Ability to work in a team. Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles. Be Able to deliver service under pressure.

DUTIES

• Clean Windows, floors, dust and polish office furniture, consulting rooms, passages/corridors, emptying of all bins, cleaning of toilets and any other area in the offices building under the supervision of a supervisor. 
• Operate and use cleaning equipment and chemicals. Safekeeping and handling of variety of aids in the cleaning of the premises.
• Keep the cleaning material and equipment clean and safe. Report defects noticed. Expected to carry out any other duty as instructed by the supervisor.
