A good solution architect must also be able to communicate effectively with their and their client’s teams at a technical as well as business level while assisting and driving the delivery (including governance) for our clients.

Key Competencies

• Deep technical skills and experience in one or more technology architecture domains
• Ability to develop implementation plans and estimates that serve as input to the business case supporting the technology implementation
• Implement and Drive effective Software Development methodologies depending on project and client environment such as Agile, Spiral and/or Waterfall.

Responsibilities

• Experience in building solution architecture, provision infrastructure, secure and reliable data-centric services and application in GCP
• Implement end-to-end data analytics solutions (from data ingestion through visualization) for large-scale, complex client environments
• Lead a team of data engineers in designing, developing, testing, and deploying high performance data analytics solutions in GCP
• Analyze and understand Big Data and analytical technologies on GCP and provide thought leadership to clients to assist with defining their architecture, data, analytics strategies
• Communicate complex technical topics to non-technical business and sr. executives
• Experience working with recommendation engines, data pipelines, or distributed machine learning and experience with data analytics and data visualization techniques and software
• Mentoring technical staff

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent work experience

Required Competencies

• 10+ years of IT experience and equivalent blend of education and experience
• 5+ years architecting, developing, and deploying scalable enterprise data analytics solutions (Enterprise Data Warehouses, Data Marts)
• Hands-on experience deploying data analytics solutions in GCP using BigTable/BigQuery/CloudSQL/DataProc/CloudSpanner/Cloudstorage
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments (such as Apache Beam, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, MapReduce, Flume)
• Effective customer-facing communication and listening skills, with the ability to collaborate directly with customer technical teams
• Build orchestration frameworks and data pipelines using DataFlow and DataProc for batch and streaming applications
• Knowledge on Google AutoML framework to build intelligence into the data pipelines
• Hands-on experience with Big Data modelling techniques: Data Vault 2.0
• Strong understanding of Java/Python programming languages; knowledge of RESTAPI frameworks
• Strong understanding of the data analytics tools, packages, offerings
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience working successfully as part of a large project team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrate experience presenting technical topics in front of an audience
• 5+ years experience writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures
• GOOGLE CLOUD CERTIFIED (Professional Cloud Architect)

Additional Competencies

• At least 3 years of application development with extensive database use
  Proven expertise in a one of more of SQL, Stored Procedures, Scripting Languages, Object and Data Modelling
• Knowledge of and hands-on work on Big Data Platforms will be a plus (e.g Hadoop, Spark, Cloudera or any of the Cloud Data Platforms)
• Performance tuning of custom code, custom queries and troubleshooting techniques
• Proven application analysis and design skills
