Group Financial Accountant at Ivanhoe Mines

The purpose of this job is to assume primary responsibility for the financial reporting and tax requirements of the Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. Group.   

You will have the following:

• BCom Accounting degree with honors or equivalent 
• Registered or eligible for registration with SAICA as a CA(SA)
• Experience within the mining industry would be advantageous 
• Exposure to organizations with a multinational footprint would be advantageous 

Preferably you will have:

• Registered or eligible for registration with SAICA as a CA(SA)

You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

• Completion of SAICA accredited articles preferably at a "Big 4" firm
• Exposure to the preparation of consolidations and the related group financial statements

• Ability to work independently to the extent required of a newly qualified CA
• Ability to prioritized workload to ensure that deadlines are met 
• Ability to work well under pressure 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information 
• Ability to work within a multinational team and to coordinate with the team to ensure deliverables are submitted in a timeous manner
• Attention to detail 

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: 

• Primarily responsible for the preparation of the Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. group consolidation
• Preparation of the monthly management accounts and quarterly and annual financial statements of the group 
• Preparation of subsidiary financial statements 
• Review of monthly reporting packs submitted by subsidiary accounting teams
• Coordination of quarterly and annual external audits (group and subsidiaries)  
• Preparation of income tax calculations
