    Group Financial Controller - Milnerton/Century City

    Description

    • We are recruiting a suitably qualified and experienced  Group Financial  Controller to provide financial control support to the group as well as individual business units.  You will be working closely with the CFO to ensure effective and efficient financial controls, balance sheet management and strong compliance in the Group. You will also have a close working relationship with the Financial Managers of the individual business units to ensure compliance with the internal control framework and external statutory requirements. The successful candidate will have proven experience in management of Sage 300 ERP and the GL structure, month end processes, reporting, company consolidation, budget template designs and uploads, secretarial functions including tax, audit, VAT, ETI’s, statutory returns and insurance.  Being able to build trust and relationships with internal stakeholders , and working at a faster than average pace without compromising on attention to detail, combined with the ability to find the right mix of strong controls and high efficiencies in process, will be key to be successful in this role.

    Building relationships with key business partners

    • Understanding the business
    •   Building relationships – up and down
    •  Provide sound financial and clear advice. Communicate findings to the team.
    •  Aid the field to understand the process and to address queries.
    • Good clear communications to colleagues and operations

    Ensure strong and effective financial controls

    • Ensure design is effective and execution is efficient
    • Ensure it is followed and adhered to
    • Ensure safeguarding of assets and accurate reporting.
    • Review GL structure to ensure it is efficient and robust
    • Strong Balance Sheet Management.

    Management of all financial processes and reporting

    • Month end, forecasting and budgets. 
    • Provide ad-hoc reporting.
    • Responsible for Group, Head Office, Property company  and BBBEE financial reporting.

    Responsible for all statutory compliance

    • BBBEE reporting and treasury functions.
    • Manage the Audit process including relationship with Auditors

    Business Process Innovation

    • Continuously work on improvements in financial and operations business process
    • Review all business systems (finance and operations) for innovation and improvement
    • Focus on digitizing functions where possible

    Requirements

    • Accounting Degree or appropriate tertiary education
    • Accpac (Sage 300 ERP) 
    • Operations and Services background
    • Knowledge of auditing, accounting controls,  within the services, and/or Food production industry or cleaning industry would be advantageous.
    • Deep competency in respect of varied financial management and accounting activities
    • Ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Enjoy a fast-paced environment.
    • Technically strong
    • Work within established standards and guidelines
    • Expertise-based problem solving
    • Experience in HR-related matters – People management - advantage
    • Project Management Experience will be advantageous
    • Experience working with a Total Quality Management system will be advantageous
