Head Business Design at Nedbank

Job Purpose

Driven by our commitment to design world class products, services and support systems for our customers, the RBB Digital business has realigned the design team with the purpose to better align the design function with the group digital strategy. To accomplish this an opportunity has become available for the Head: Business Design reporting to the Executive Head for Design. Our Retail & Business Banking Digital team is looking for an experienced CX Professional who will work closely with the Executive for Design, the Head of RBB digital, the Executive for Consumer Banking.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure that all digital products are fit for purpose, review and evolve the business models with head of RBB digital.
• Conceptualize and prototype digital products that serve the market and provide commercial uplift.
• Play a critical role in ensuring that we deliver on our digital commercial targets.
• Lead a cross functional team inclusive of business design leads, Visual designers, 2D + 3D designer, architectural design, a retail experience designer as well as external studio resources when required.
• Deliver the design (UX/UI/CX) improvements to optimise (including clients testing)
• Analyse drop offs to optimise the client journey and sales process and work with the correct CCD subject matter expert to fix the drop off causes.
• Drive positive user engagement, deepen brand affinity, increase user satisfaction and loyalty.
• Develop strong understanding and comprehension of issues, pain points and preferences.

Minimum Experience Level

• 4 -6 years’ experience in design lead function
• Creative director and/or design director 4 years

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

• Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in visual, graphic or strategic design
• Formal certification in Human centred design from a globally recognised institution
• Wed and/or UX design

Technical / Professional Knowledge

• Relevant industry experience (business design, design strategy, business or IT consulting, Digital Strategy). Candidates with different years of experience will be considered for corresponding career levels.
• Demonstrated fluency with the human-centred design process and an ability to work in multidisciplinary design teams.
• Experience in designing applications that balance user needs, commercial interests and technological constraints
• Demonstrated fluency with the human-centred design process and an ability to work in multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong understanding of the innovation lifecycle, and how to develop business model to support the innovation process.
• Ability to function, adapt and succeed in a constantly changing environment
• Experience in change management, operational improvement and metrics consulting as well as industry knowledge in areas relevant for Nedbank
• Experience in business development from lead generation through proposal writing and proposal delivery
• Experience in working in multi­disciplinary design teams
• Experience in designing applications that balance user needs, commercial interests and technological constraints
• Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems effectively and efficiently
• Ability to function, adapt and succeed in a constantly changing environment.
