    Head - Maintenance & Service Standards

    Requirements

    • Relevant Tertiary qualification in Engineering preferably B Eng/BSC or BTech degree in Electrical Engineering.
    •  Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng).
    •  Minimum of 10 years post graduate technical and managerial experience with extensive exposure to electrical distribution 

    Key Performance Areas

    • Conduct research and apply national/international standards for distribution network maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
    •  Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants and service providers, to discuss maintenance strategies, research results, and industry best practices.
    •  Represent the City in national working groups to influence the development of technical standards and maintenance strategies, Candidates ensuring the City ’ s needs are considered.
    •  Manage the preparation, issuance, and evaluation of maintenance and service tenders, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and contract terms.
    •  Oversee and coordinate staff training on maintenance strategies, equipment installation, and operational knowledge, in collaboration with the Electricity Training Centre.
    •  Develop, manage, and implement comprehensive maintenance plans for the distribution network, utilizing Reliability-Centred Maintenance principles and coordinating with stakeholders.
    •  Provide specialized technical support to the Enterprise Asset Management Branch and manage a technical library containing maintenance-related documents, bulletins, and task lists.
    •  Plan and manage staff assignments, identify skill gaps, and develop training and performance improvement plans, ensuring effective team performance.
