    Head of Digital & Performance Marketing

    Role Description

    Seeking a seasoned Head of Digital and Performance Marketing individual to join the team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be a key member of the founding team, working closely with the founders on business, product and growth strategy, and will also have a large operational impact. The candidate will be tasked with identifying opportunities and pursuing projects that will lead to growth for the company and its clients. This will include building marketing assets, setting up new channels and campaigns, and optimising existing processes to promote growth.

    Ideally, the Head of Digital and Performance Marketing is an expert in omnichannel digital marketing methodologies, specifically with seasoned experience in AdWords, Facebook Ads, Native Advertising, and other digital marketing platforms. This individual should have a good grasp on data analysis, should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and preferably have SQL knowledge. Further, competency in WordPress, HTML and CSS would be beneficial.

    Salary

    • R50,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)

    Responsibilities

    • To work cross-functionally with internal and external partners to establish value across the commercial business
    • Manage and optimise existing digital solutions, and build new digital solutions which will include design, contractual guidance, compliance and reporting recommendations within this framework
    • Advise how and when to partner vs build organic solutions
    • As a partner, a strategic adviser, and an internal consultant surrounded by people who share the same determination to tackle the world’s toughest marketing challenges, will partner with both internal and external stakeholders to build better marketing solutions and processes
    • Enhance customer experience and business performance by elevating the quality of insights, and embedding advanced business analytics
    • Enhance insights with new data analysis learnings and marketing methodologies
    • Elevate business partnerships, worldwide customer relationships and market strategy knowledge to understand key stakeholder’s business acumen
    • Provide insights and external customer knowledge for major strategic decisions
    • Continuous engagement with customers, their teams and their objectives to better suit their challenges and needs with an innovative solution
    • Define the roadmap for each client, channel or asset to generate user growth and maintain the quality of user acquisition and retention
    • Work with Excel and BI tools to build reports to analyse data to improve campaign effectiveness
    • Be proactive in suggesting new campaign ideas, targeting and optimization efforts to achieve business goals
    • Evaluate new potential traffic opportunities (channels and partnerships), test these and integrate into strategy if effective for growth
    • Mentor and develop the skills within the team (includes setting and providing feedback on monthly KPI’s and targets)
    • Manage the digital marketing budget and be accountable for achieving lead-generation, customer acquisition and order targets
    • Manage and grow the digital performance marketing team

    Requirements

    • Degree in a business-related or technical field such as Marketing/Digital Marketing, Business Administration, or any other related field Certificate in Google PPC, - Display, - Analytics and/or Hubspot Academy
    • At least 6 years' experience in driving consumer acquisition across marketing channels such as PPC, Performance, Display, Paid Search, Paid Social, and Retargeting
    • Vast experience working with ad-serving platforms and digital monitoring tools
    • Proven and successful experience building and executing digital marketing campaigns for a business in a highly competitive and complex business environment
    • Experience with Customer Relationship Marketing software and methodology
    • Highly analytical and data-driven
    • Experienced in data analysis and data management. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, Tableau/ MetaBase or other BI tools
    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information to develop recommendations, and ability to persuade/influence organization pursuit of the recommended path
    • Strong sense of ownership and determination to get things done
    • Experience in management and building teams
