FEM is looking to appoint a Head Office Claims Manager to oversee and manage the teams that are responsible for the registration of claims, customer service, authorisation of claims accounts and the invoice management system. Our claims are processed in accordance with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COID Act) and FEM’s standard operating procedures.
Reporting to the National Claims Manager, the incumbent will lead, manage and implement new projects and system initiatives in line with the agreed strategies and goals aligned to the company objectives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the standard operating procedures (SOP’s) of claims in Head Office coupled with overseeing overall performance of the respective teams to ensure compliance with the COID Act. The position also requires the incumbent to produce management reports, conduct audits and ensure good risk management.
The minimum requirements of the position are a Diploma or B Degree in Nursing or equivalent and a management-related qualification. The position requires a minimum of 5 years prior work experience in a clinical or multi-disciplinary life and disability claims environment, with at least 3 years in people management and at least 3 years in a management capacity.
Further requirements are knowledge of the COID Act, a good understanding of the risk management processes, own transport with a valid driver’s license and good computer literacy. The ability to work within strict deadlines and turnaround times, reliability and excellent communication complete our requirements.
We have offices regionally in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. This position will be located in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
