    Tasks

    Customer Archetypal and Segmentation

    • Rigorously perform customer research across all regions to understand buying powers and behaviours of different hyper segments.

    Payments and Platforms

    • Thoroughly analyse regional consumer preferences and behaviours related to payment methods across all defined customer archetypal segments.
    • Identify potential payment partnership demands and gaps (both traditional and non-formal) in each region based on customer payment preferences, behaviours, spending choices and channels.
    • Identify potential payment partners in each region based on identified demands and gaps to explore joint ventures or partnerships to expand service offerings.
    • Assess the feasibility and impact of technology solutions in enhancing business model performance in deferent regions.
    • Explore other innovative informal payment methods and relevant informal partners to widen access to Showmax services across new and existing African markets.

    Payments and Growth Partnerships Strategy

    • Collaborate with other functional leaderships teams in sharing and drawing insights that inform business decision making of localised business models, which will ensure sustained growth and retention in new and existing markets.
    • Identify strategic partnerships that have the power to unlock the day-today household synergistic opportunities that can propel the business to new heights.
    • Drive new models of business considering the ever-changing, dynamic nature of the industry by creating new opportunities across Telcos, Internet Service Providers, Smart TVs, OEMs, E-comm, Banks, Coupon aggregators, etc.
    • Develop, implement and rollout the partnerships market growth and customer payment strategy with the goal of growing both the free and paid subscriber base.
    • Identify potential risks and challenges in the market expansion process and develop proactive mitigation strategies to safeguard against setbacks.

    Partnership Acquisition and On-boarding

    • Define partnership objectives aligned with Showmax objectives including which customer problems we are solving for and partnership subscription targets.
    • Engage and negotiate with partners to reach shared and agreed objectives to be translated to commercial agreements and most desired customer user journeys.
    • Assist legal teams to draft and finalise commercial agreements aligned to shared objectives and discussions.
    • Coordinate cross functional and bi-party collaboration to achieve objectives captured in commercial agreements. E.g., Technical, Value propositions, and full go-to-market (GTM), etc.

    Qualifications

    • Post Grad Degree or Equivalent NQF Level 8 Qualifications in Business Management or similar
    • MBA highly advantageous

    Experience

    • Minimum of 10-15 years of business experience, with 10 years in business development and sales, within the entertainment or streaming industry.
    • Minimum 8 years management experience (dealing with executive-level stakeholders and commercial issues).
    • Experience in regional expansion strategies.
    • Experience in new product launch as well as marketing experience preferred.
    • Must possess the ability to build, foster and nurture strong relationships and gain the respect of members of the cross-functional and affiliate teams.
    • Understanding of Media/Broadcast processes.
    • Financial Management and Modelling experience.
    • Ability to think strategically and contribute to the attainment of business objectives
