Key Performance Areas
Managing research and development of specialised technical and strategic support with respect to Urban Waste Management aspects by engineering, designing of systems, procedures, criteria for new developments.
Evaluate existing, design new and continuously assess Systems & Procedures across the spectrum of Urban Waste Management.
Evaluate existing, design new systems and procedures across Urban Waste Management and provide input to the IWM Policy and By-law.
Research and define best practices and benchmarking to ensure uniform applications and integration of systems and procedures amongst services. Provide input into the development of the Directorate Sector and Business plans.
Analyse status quo versus available technology to inform future resource requirements.
Integrate research and development, business reengineering,systems, policies, strategies, by-laws, new technologies and innovation in all future demand planning and development.
Evaluate and interpret waste information to assess performance and trends and building information/ knowledge capabilities within the departments to measure performance/outputs and guide long-term developments.
Engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at executive and senior managers
Network and build effective relationships and partnerships within and across the organization.
