Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Grade 12 certificate
• Accredited Certificate in HIV Counselling & testing.
• Certificate in Adherence Counselling will be advantageous.
• Knowledge & skills in conducting proficiency testing including RTQII (Rapid Testing Quality Improvement Initiative) Quality assurance.
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in HIV Counselling & Testing Services.
• Experience working with youth / young adults, sexual & reproductive health, HIV prevention & PrEP will be advantageous.
• Familiar with the HTS (HIV Testing Services) register data recording

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

• HIV Counseling & Testing: Provide pre- & post-test counselling

Health Promotion:

• Support Professional Nurse / enrolled Nurse in Health Promotion Campaigns.
• Do Health Promotion talks within Campus clinics.
• Condom distribution on Campus & residences.
• Health Screening Stock levels & HIV Testkits stock levels monitoring.

Recordkeeping & Administration:

• Keep record of HIV testing, health talks, educational material & condom distribution.
• Assist with clinic appointment booking system.
• Monthly Statistical reporting.
• Care & Support by providing ongoing counselling & follow-up of HIV positive clients. Do adherence counselling.
