Minimum requirements: Abet level 2 or equivalent. Basic knowledge of the Legislative framework and processes related to cleaning. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to communicate well with people at different levels.
Ability to organize and plan. Must be self-motivated and be prepared to rotate to other units. Ability to act with tact and insight.
Knowledge of Batho Pele Principle. Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work independently in a team. Applicant should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance
Duties :
Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the areas allocated for cleaning. Cleaning of walls, windows, window frames, doors. Polish floors, furnisher, lockers, dusting. Cleaning corridors, kitchen, toilets, offices, entrances, stairs, fire escapes, side walls, lift, passages, waiting areas, equipment, and carpets. Removal of garbage disposal.
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in restrooms, general rooms, bathrooms and other places in the building/offices, kitchen, including passages and waiting areas.
This includes washing, dusting, polishing, vacuum cleaning and sweeping as appropriate. Clean kitchen utensils and equipment. Maintain and keep control of stock levels of cleaning material/tea and meal utensils.
Keep cleaning equipment safe, clean and in an efficient working condition. Report any item of equipment that needs to be repaired.
Report shortage and or faulty machine/ equipment. Clean the boardroom, doctors/nurses rooms, classrooms, halls, arranging chairs, water, glasses and any other utensils.
Removal of waste, cleaning bins. Adhere to the health care waste management policy and infection control prescripts. Operate machines. Refill soap containers.
Completion of daily work activities on cleaning control list. Adhere to all cleaning service policies and procedures. Adhere to timelines. Adhere to Health care waste management policy. Be prepared to rotate within the scope of work. Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Perform other duties as allocated by the supervisor.
Be willing to undergo continuous training and development programs. Attend meetings and training as approved by supervisor. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (Contracting, reviews and final assessment).
