    Hub Technical Material Buyer

    About The Role

    • The Technical Material Buyer will be part of the Operational Sourcing team where they will support and facilitate smooth communication/negotiation, planning, organising and procurement execution with suppliers in ensuring on time deliveries of all materials. This role will require collaborative efforts between external stakeholders (suppliers), internal stakeholders ie. Factory, demand planning, commercial/sales force etc. to achieve the business objectives and satisfy our customer needs. The successful incumbent will provides direct support to the Sourcing Managers, leads cost out projects across all Hub sites this includes all the spend areas.

    What You Will Do

    • Execute design to cost opportunities for all hub streams across all Hub sites, ensuring working capital efficiency.
    • Comply with Essity’s procedures, purchasing policy and financial instructions.
    • Support Hub Sourcing managers in the execution of tenders, supplier qualification, supplier selection, risk management etc.
    • Work closely with all stakeholders to drive continuous improvement through cost saving projects, organising trials, implementing supplier changes and tracking savings.
    • Maintain and develop knowledge database, aligning reporting capability across the hub and co-ordination of systems improvements, driving initiatives such as E-procurement.
    • Review and monitor sourcing operational needs when interfacing with suppliers, ensuring effective communication of best practices and supporting roll out of these initiatives (Hub level).
    • Review and maintain records of approved suppliers in line with Essity’s risk policy.
    • Ensure that the interests of Essity are managed in a professional and ethical manner throughout all interactions with suppliers, ensuring full compliance with Essity Supplier Standard.
    • Support Essity quality and sustainability goals. Sourcing lead in quality audits (Hub Level).
    • Support BBBEE initiatives in relation to sourcing pillar, enterprise & supplier development.
    • Ensure, where appropriate, the integration of common product types across all sites of Essity and ensure a harmonized approach across all hub engineering storerooms.
    • Supply regular updates and KPI’s to Sourcing managers to ensure effective communication of cost saving activities (Actual vs target)

    Who You Are

    • A minimum Bachelor degree in Technical or Financial or Supply Chain
    • Membership to SAPICS / CIPS is an added advantage
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
    • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP systems eg. SAP and electronic ordering systems.
    • Project Management and Negotiating skills are essential.
    • Must have experience and proven track record with international procurement process and customs standards.
    • Must speak, read and write fluent English, an additional language (German, French, Spanish or Chinese) proficiency is an added advantage.
