    Human Resources Business Partner

    Introduction

    • A software company situated in Stellenbosch is offering an opportunity for a Human Resource Business Partner to join their team. This role takes ownership of the HR function within the company and ensures that all HR operations, payroll, recruitment, compliance, and employee relations are managed and implemented effectively.

    Minimum education (essential)

    • BCom in Human Resources Management

    Minimum education (desirable)

    • Payroll Certification

    Minimum applicable experience (years)

    Key Performance Areas, Weights, and Objectives

    HR Operations 40%

    • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
    • Ensure job descriptions are up to date and relevant in collaboration with external consultants.
    • Manage and improve the onboarding and off-boarding process and monitor compliance with processes.
    • Implement a reward and recognition strategy.
    • Drive the increases and bonus process on an annual basis.
    • Liaise with external consultants to conduct salary benchmarks.
    • Implement and manage the performance management process.
    • Drive the culture and values embedding.
    • Drive employee wellness.
    • Implement and manage internal training and personal development plans.
    • Ensure that leave is managed effectively.
    • Proactively identify HR risks and suggest improvements.
    • Maintain and update employee files.
    • Monitor, draft, and update employee records (contracts, offers, extensions, transfers, promotions).

    HR Compliance 10%

    • Ensure that all HR-related legislation is adhered to including BCEA, LRA, EEA, OHSA, SDA, and COIDA).
    • Ensure compliance with the Department of Labour and other related requirements.
    • Manage and oversee the annual WSP/ATR and EE reporting and submissions.
    • Conduct regular employment equity and skills development committee meetings.
    • Drive Health & Safety compliance.
    • Liaise with external labour consultants regarding relevant labour matters.
    • Stay up to date with relevant labour legislation and advise Management on changes that will/might affect the Company.

    Payroll Administration 20%

    • Ensure payroll compliance and effective execution of the overall payroll function.
    • Collect and compile all relevant payroll information and process changes and liaise with external payroll consultants to execute payroll.
    • Send payroll reports to relevant managers for approval and sign-off.
    • Ensure the bank file is generated and approved for payment.
    • Resolve employees’ payroll queries on an ongoing basis.
    • Maintain and update all relevant employee information on the payroll system.
    • Monitor long service awards including drafting and issuing letters.
    • Coordinate all tax reporting with external consultants.
    • Coordinate payroll offboarding.
    • Monitor and manage leave processes and leave provisions.
    • Draft all relevant UIF documents (UI19, Certificate of Service, maternity etc.).

    Recruitment 20%

    • Coordinate the ATR process.
    • Ensure internal and external recruitment processes are effective.
    • Liaise with external consultants and recruitment agencies where applicable in coordinating an effective recruitment process.
    • Conduct interviews for selected positions.
    • Coordinate psychometric assessments with external consultants.
    • Negotiate and finalise offers with prospective candidates.

    Labour Relations 10%

    • Ensure all disciplinary matters and processes are effective.
    • Assist and guide managers with disciplinary matters.
    • Assist and guide managers with poor performance counselling.
    • Ensure consistency of standards in the application of disciplinary matters.
    • Facilitate grievances and sensitive conflict resolutions according to procedures.
    • Coordinate all disciplinary matters including, but not restricted to, hearings and CCMA appearances, documentation, and corrective actions.
    • Liaise with external labour consultants regarding relevant labour matters.
