Ensure an efficient and compliant HR operations in the country, considering global and regional standards and policies.
Serve as a partner and sounding board for the People, Culture and Communications Director and local management team in matters relating to Operational HRM and Organizational Development. Work closely with the local and global HR Business Partners and the HR Shared Services team.
Proactively partner and collaborate with your stakeholders to provide pragmatic and commercially focused advice to bring the People Strategy to life.
Go-to person for embedding organisational changes to their respective organisations and the impact these have on staff skills, staff development and staff recruitment.
Collaborate closely with the Global Centres of Expertise to ensure all People program(s) are suitable and appropriately aligned to the business line strategy.
By serving as partner to the Global People Services team, ensure an efficient and compliant HR service, considering global standards and policies, combined with local laws, rules and regulations.
Coordinate and optimize local HR activities and services in line with business needs.
Build and actively manage stakeholder network to analyze business requirements and align and report on service performance.
Implement human resources strategies of Royal HaskoningDHV Group as well as specific local strategies and align with Royal HaskoningDHV way of working including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, succession planning, employee relations and retention, compliance, and labour relations.
Guide management by developing, writing, updating and streamlining local policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
Collaborate with Global Learning & Development team to ensure programme(s) for staff training and development are suitable.
Ensure and facilitate alignment in HR policies and procedures. Provide a strong link between local and regional shared services: from job offer acceptance to off-boarding of employees (Hire2Retire): Payroll, Benefits Admin, Personal Data Admin, Staff & Career Movements, OM, Leave and Absence Management, Time Data Quality, Archiving Reporting, Payroll Cost allocation, Local System and Vendor Management.
Coordinate and facilitate annual processes, including Performance & Development.
Accountable for best possible Employee Experience. Support the region’s HR BPs to ensure optimal employee engagement and retention and that translation of company’s culture and strategy is embedded.
Partner with the global Talent Acquisition team to meet recruitment targets.
Drive continuous improvements in HR processes & services. Responsible for ensuring HR practices and systems are adjusted in line with relevant changes in legislation and other developments.
Deliver regular HR communication on country level to management and employees. Make sure that information is easily available for all employees in the region.
Provide a strong link between the business and the HR team, including the People Services and Centre of Expertise groups.
Co-ordinate salary reviews and national benchmarking.
Minimum qualifications, skills and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience as an HR partner at senior level positions within large commercial and/ or international professional services organisations.
Experience of working with and improving HR systems, policies and procedures.
Desirable: experience working in a global matrix organisation collaborating with colleagues internationally.
Experience in organizational effectiveness and organization change processes, Talent and Reward agendas.
Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills.
Organising and planning skills; results oriented and “gets things done”.
Proven ability to facilitate, persuade, influence and build credibility with all levels and all functions.
Strong consultancy and communication skills, specifically diagnosis.
Analytical, interpretative and decision-making skills.
International mindset, knowledge and experience of HR in the region (laws and culture).

The position may be based at any of our major South African office locations.
