    Human Resources Officer

    Unlock Your Potential! 

    • We’re looking for a passionate Human Resources Officer to join our NBL Isando Biscuits in Kempton Park, Gauteng. In this role, you will partner with and advise the business unit’s Line Managers to enable and improve line capacity and effectiveness about the following HR services: HR Projects, Learning and Development, Employee Wellness, Performance Management, Recruiting and Staffing, Talent Management and OD, and HR Reporting, Statistics and Compliance.

    Reporting Structure:

    • Reports to: HR Manager

    Key Areas of Impact:

    HR operations, administration and compliance

    • Own the accurate and timely administration of the employee lifecycle, including engagements, employee changes, leave, terminations and payroll inputs.
    • Maintain the integrity of HR systems, employee records, organisational structures and job profile information.
    • Prepare and analyse HR reports and statistics, providing insights on headcount, absenteeism, employee movements, employment costs and other key people metrics.
    • Ensure HR audit, legislative and statutory requirements are met and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
    • Provide professional and responsive HR guidance to employees and line managers on policies, procedures and HR processes.

    Performance management

    • Coordinate and monitor the Business Unit performance management cycle, ensuring timely completion and quality of performance documentation.
    • Provide guidance and support to line managers on the performance management process
    • Track performance management outcomes and identify trends, gaps and areas requiring intervention.

    Learning and Development

    • Coordinate the Business Unit learning and development plan in partnership with line management and Land D.
    • Identify and consolidate training requirements and monitor delivery, attendance, completion and training records.
    • Support WSP/ATR requirements, skills development initiatives and relevant transformation objectives.
    • Coordinate induction and other HR-related learning interventions.

    Recruitment and Onboarding

    • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for the Business Unit, ensuring adherence to approved processes and legislation.
    • Partner with line managers and Recruitment to facilitate effective selection, appointment and onboarding.
    • Ensure new employees receive the required documentation, induction and information on HR policies and benefits.

    Employee Wellness, Engagement and Communication

    • Coordinate employee wellness, EAP and engagement initiatives in support of employee wellbeing and a positive workplace culture.
    • Own the coordination of HR communications, ensuring information is accurate, relevant and communicated through appropriate channels.
    • Coordinate employee forums and initiatives, including the Canteen Committee.
    • Identify employee concerns and trends and escalate matters requiring intervention to the HR Manager.

    HR Advisory and Continuous Improvement

    • Provide first-line HR advisory support to line management on HR processes, performance, recruitment, learning, remuneration, wellness and employee matters.
    • Apply HR policies and procedures consistently and identify potential employee, compliance or operational risks.
    • Use HR data and business insights to identify trends, recommend solutions and improve HR processes and service delivery.
    • Support the HR Manager with HR projects and initiatives aligned to the Business Unit HR strategy.

    What It Takes to Succeed:

    Experience that set you up for success:                       

    • 5 years’ HR generalist experience
    • Experience working in a unionised environment is essential
    • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential

    Qualifications and Certifications that will contribute to your success:

    • 3 years National Diploma / Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology
    • Further courses or certification in IR would be highly advantageous
