Inbound Freight Specialist - Kuilsriver at Ackermans

• As an Inbound Freight Specialist within Ackermans at our Kuilsriver Office, you will be responsible to provide operational management of all Inbound Freight, customs clearing and order management for Ackermans and Speciality. 

Reporting directly to the Freight Manager, you will be part of a dynamic and diverse team of Supply Chain Phadimas!
If you have 2 years’ experience in International Logistics, customs and tariffing coupled with 3 years’ exposure of clearing and forwarding procedures within a retail environment, consider this to be an opportunity to take your career to the next level.

Qualifications    
Essential: 

• A Grade 12 Certificate/Matric with Accounting and Mathematics 

 Preferred: 

• B-Degree / Diploma in Logistics Supply Chain
• Certificate in Shipping Procedures
• Customs certification 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience    

• Knowledge of DC operations and processes  
• Knowledge of Outbound SOP’s to stores
• Knowledge of Shipping/Forwarding/Clearing
• Knowledge of SARS procedures and rules
• Knowledge of Cross border transactions
• Knowledge of Supplier Management – Local bookings 
• Advanced computer skills

• 2-3 years International Logistics
• 2-3 years Retail experience in Shipping Logistics
• 3-4 years Customs and tariff experience
• 3 years exposure of clearing and forwarding procedures.

Key Responsibilities    
Data Integrity

• Extract order parameters from Ukusa
• Identify anomalies with errors relating to fabric description, weight, country of origin etc.
• Identify anomalies with regards to DSV reporting and data accuracy

Export declaration for BLNS  

• Manage and monitor anomalies as highlighted by export partner
• Non-stock process
• Ensure compliance to customs exports

Tarriffing

• Monitoring of tariffs loaded against POs
• Tariff code allocations corrected as per guidelines
• Tariff code cleanup and simplification

Coordinate Inbound Freight operations 

• Consolidations – Monitor smaller port deliveries across Ackermans and Speciality to achieve full container loads
• Container utilization
• Pre-costing variables
• Calculation of pre-costing variables
• Loading variables into Ukusa
• Shipping line forecast
• Prepare and distribute the shipping line forecast
• Monitor actual volumes shipped against shipping line forecast
• Custom stops monitoring and expediting

Reporting

• Construct monthly report for senior management.
• Table comments and actions on KPI deviations
• Attend stand-still meetings Department and SBU’s
• Prepare and distribute Speciality management reports.
