    Inbound Stock Controller

    Description

    • The effective stock management of the raw materials warehouse through world-class inventory management processes such as receiving and issuing, systems management, inventory counts, bin optimisations etc.  The primary duties include checking stock levels and updating stock records.

    SPAN OF CONTROL:

    • This role is responsible for maintaining stock levels and accurate capturing of stock of D365. 

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & OUTPUTS

    Inbound Stock Controller

    •          To establish and execute cycle count schedule in compliance with the corporate accounting objectives.
    •          To coordinate and oversee the daily cycle counts of the various inventory assets.
    •          To investigate, identify and reconcile the cycle count discrepancies, i.e., shortages as well as overages.
    •          To audit process along with paper flow errors and try to spot the inconsistencies that affect the accuracy of the inventories.
    •          To take care of the inventory areas by organizing and maintaining efficient material handling and storage
    •          To maintain the cycle count records so that it can be reviewed by the management and provide the reports related to cycle count activity.
    •          the individuals working in this position implement and maintain policies and procedures related to inventory control.
    •          To supervise and coordinate the appropriate processing of various purchase requisitions, receiving reports, purchase orders, inventory requisitions, etc.
    •          To take periodic physical inventories and ensure that the investment in inventory is maintained at optimum levels.
    •          To communicate with vendors about the merchandise and its concerned inquiries.
    •          To prepare reports of inventory balance and use computer applications and database management to perform the assigned work effectively.
    •          To authorize all adjustments made to the inventory and investigate the inventory issues like quality control complaints, customer complaints regarding products, etc.
    •          To track the variances in the inventory, to facilitate better planning as well as interpret variances and correct the problems that have come up.
    •          To validate the merchandise that has been received to the package and description details from the original order.
    •          To accurately input data related to product description in the inventory system as well as maintain accurate merchandising information and inventory turn performance.
    •          To work in tandem with various departments and maintain flexible attitude supporting all the work that helps in achieving organizational goals.
    •          To be accountable for maintaining high levels of customer service, be it internal or external.
    •          To coordinate damaged and defective products and make sure that it is accounted and handled properly by disposing it, reconditioning, or returning it to the supplier.
    •          To ensure that all the employees in the team works towards achieving the objectives related to inventory control management and make suggestions for improvement to the management.
    •          Inventory storage complies with relevant safety and regulatory aspects in terms of fire security, stacking heights, stacking weights etc.
    •          Manage and adhere to SHE programme’s and OHS act. 
    •          Managing risk control, ensure security, safety, and good housekeeping.
    •          Participating and coordinating of audits as and when required. 
    •          Plan space within the warehouses and inventory locations to make the most of the given floor space.
    •         Inventory locations are well marked, logically assigned and at any time clearly indicated the categorization or types of goods that must be stored therein.
    •          Inventory is store relative to its velocity, so that distances between storage and issuing areas are minimized.
    •          Inventory is issued using FIFO or similar methods to maintain a high level of fresh stock.
    •          Inventory transactions are processed on the inventory system to maintain the integrity of the inventory count, and to accurately reflect actual material movements taking place in the real world.
    •          Store inventory in a manner that optimizes any taxation benefits that may apply.
    •          Manage SARS Rebate inventory to ensure compliance to SARS requirements.
    •       Direct activities that ensure compliance with applicable safety, health and environment legislation and audit requirements.
    •       Ensure housekeeping is kept to 5S standards.

    Requirements
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Grade 12 / Matric with a pass in Maths/Maths Lit and English
    • Supply Chain Diploma / Degree would be advantageous.
    • Valid Forklift License
    • 2 to 3 years relevant logistics and warehouse experience in a similar role within a relevant industry

     REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and Skill:

    • System and application knowledge e.g., 5S, ERP, MRP, WMS systems is essential.
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications is essential.
    • Previous experience working in logistics and warehousing is essential.
