    Information Officer – 2 posts (5-month contract)

    Salary: R325 101 – R382 959 per annum (Level 7)

    • Reference: ECHEALTH/INFOFF/JGQ/S16/21/10/2025
    • Centre: Joe Gqabi District

    Requirements:

    • National Senior Certificate plus a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Information Management, Public Administration, or a related qualification recognised by SAQA.
    • 1–2 years’ experience in information management or health information systems.

    Knowledge of:

    • DHIS software, Tier.Net, and EDR Web.
    • National Health Information Systems in South Africa (NHISSA) and District Health Management Information System (DHMIS) frameworks.
    • Computer literacy, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
    • Leadership and supervisory abilities.
    • A valid driver’s licence is required.

    Duties:

    • Compile HAST monthly, quarterly, and DORA reports for facilities within the district.
    • Maintain and monitor timely submission of data and compile data quality indices measuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy.
    • Serve as Provincial Tier Key Implementer and Tier.Net technical support personnel, troubleshooting system challenges and liaising with the National Department of Health (NDoH).
    • Provide provincial support for Health Information EDRWeb, assisting sites with data capturing and system-related issues.
    • Act as Tier.Net and EDR trainer, conducting training sessions for all relevant stakeholders on system use and data management.
    • Support district and sub-district personnel with data management and ETR technical challenges.
    • Manage and analyse HAST programme data, identifying outliers, missing, or incorrectly reported data.
    • Assist in facility audit readiness by strengthening implementation and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Provide regular feedback to districts on analysed data, performance, and progress against targets.
    • Monitor Tier.Net progress monthly at district and facility levels.
    • Compile pre-submission reports addressing data quality issues from districts.
    • Communicate with districts and sub-districts regarding training, provide feedback on training outcomes, and coordinate sessions from the provincial office.
    • Organise and coordinate meetings and training workshops on data management and reporting improvement.
