    Infrastructure Support Specialist

    Job Description

    An exciting career opportunity exists for a 2nd Line Support Consultant seeking growth and being part of the Infrastructure as a Service team within the Technology by Design Business (TBD) Unit of the business.

    The IT Support Consultant is key in deploying, maintaining and securing key infrastructure for the business.
    Therefore, this candidate must have great interpersonal skills and emotional quotient. The ability to analyse and troubleshoot is important but more importantly, the ability to do so in a collaborative effort with the TBD team is crucial.
    Administrative tasks require the candidate to be fastidious, reliable, efficient, responsive and accountable in nature and great at coordination of tasks through good time management skills to support rapid changes within the business.

    There will be a combination of Remote Support and On-Premises Support. The candidate will be located in the CPT Office.
    Work from home is an option but limited.

    The candidate will report to the Technology Services Manager.

    Key Duties include and are not limited to: 

    • Infrastructure Support Services  
    • Provide 2nd through to 3rd line systems support and management
    • Installing, maintaining, and monitoring of the VMWARE and Azure hosting environments
    • Updating and patching software and hardware as per vendor requirements
    • Pre-emptive maintenance on systems and the scheduling, designing, and monitoring thereof
    • Support and maintenance of proactive endpoint management systems
    • Ability to understand and successfully employ networking, storage, operating systems, virtualisation, and integration solutions
    • Drive systems uptime and availability 99,9% 
    • Ensuring our business continuity and DR plans are sound, perform tests and remediate with the rest of the TBD team.
    • Utilise key monitoring systems to be proactive in identifying system issues and remediate it ahead of time.
    • Support business growth by always ensuring technology architecture and systems is reliable and scalable.
    • Foster and nurture 3rd party partnerships and service offering complementors.

    Provide server and application support and administration not limited to the following systems:  

    • Microsoft Office 365 
    • Azure Services
    • SharePoint online  
    • F-Secure Anti-virus   
    • Mimecast services
    • VMWARE  
    • MS Exchange  
    • Active Directory
    • Backup facility coordination and monitoring (Veeam, and Druva Backup Management)

    Provide network support:

    • Wi-Fi
    • LAN cabling
    • Switch management
    • VLan’s and Network segregation
    • Firewalls
    • Fortinet / Forticlient
    • VPN 
    • Documentation and Training
    • Training end-users on how to effectively utilise technology
    • Creating documentation and materials to help educate both your customers and fellow team members on technical aspects of the product
    • Documenting of knowledgebase, User Guides, and Technical Guides

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate holds the following:

    • A formal Information Technology tertiary qualification would be preferable (Degree or similar)  
    • CISM or CCSP qualifications or experience (advantageous) 
    • IT Diploma or equivalent preferable 
    • VMWARE VCP 
    • N+ 
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
    • ITIL V3 Certified (beneficial)
    • SharePoint Certified (beneficial)
    • VMWARE VCP Certified (beneficial)
    • CompTIA Security+ (beneficial)
    • Excellent understanding of most mobile device operating systems
    • 3 years’ experience in installing, maintaining and administrating Windows 10 Operating System including Mobile Device Management (MDM) MS Intune
    • 3 years ‘administrating end-user applications; MS Office, Email systems, desktop applications 
    • 3 years’ experience installing, maintaining, and administrating MS Office and Office 365 
    • 3 years’ supporting Network services; VPN systems, mapped drives, network shares 
    • 3 years’ experience Network troubleshooting, including TCPIP, Route and Tracing abilities. 
    • 3 years’ experience administrating and maintaining Active Directory & Azure AD 
    • Experience administrating and maintaining VEEAM Services or other related backup software’s
    • 3 years’ experience Antivirus Management Console administration.
