    Institutional Key Account Manager

    The position

    As an  Institutional Key Account Manager at Novo Nordisk, you will implement activities that enable Novo Nordisk to secure optimal presence in the public sector and realize maximum tender potential of current and future Novo Nordisk portfolio of products in Diabetes, Obesity and Rare Diseases. This role paves a way for Novo Nordisk to partner with state ahead of the planned NHI introduction.  

    Your Main Accountabilities will be:

    • Analyse tender market and dynamics to identify opportunities, investigate and shape the tender network in order to identify key players, and define and plan mid-term tender strategy to reach key decision makers and influence optimal position of Novo Nordisk portfolio at tender definition and specification processes.
    • Coordinate execution of the tender strategy in field, in collaboration with marketing & medical team to ensure Novo Nordisk portfolio optimization and follow-up on the main tenders in South Africa for the Novo Nordisk portfolio 
    • Direct contact with target customers through planned field visits, build strong relationship between Novo Nordisk and key decision makers in every institution and ensure strategic and systematic engagement with all stakeholders and ensure timely follow up on volumes requested by institutions, hospitals requests & budget of SAMHS hospitals
    • Manage Tender performance through RSA Pharma reports and ensure full engagement with all public sector KOLs across Novo Nordisk portfolio
    • Achieve value upgrade target set for institution (coding/buy-outs) and develop and follow up projects in the public sector

    Qualifications

    • To be successful in this role, you need to have University degree in Pharmacy or health sciences, 3-5 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry required with a special focus in Market Access. Sales and/or Marketing roles targeting public market in South Africa.
