    Instructional Designers

    About the Role

    • We are looking for a talented and creative Instructional Designer to join our learning and development team within a fast-paced retail technology business operating across South Africa.
    • This role will focus on designing and delivering engaging learning experiences for both store teams and head office employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality digital learning content within our Learning Management System (LMS), creating structured onboarding journeys, and building practical training programmes that support product knowledge, sales capability, and business processes.
    • You will work closely with subject matter experts across the business to transform technical or operational information into clear, engaging, and practical learning modules that help our teams perform at their best.

    Key Responsibilities

    Learning Content Development

    • Design and develop engaging digital learning content within the Learning Management System (LMS).
    • Convert technical or operational content into interactive learning modules suitable for a retail environment.
    • Develop courses covering product knowledge, sales capability, and internal business processes.

    Learning Pathways and Onboarding

    • Create structured onboarding learning paths for new employees across stores and head office.
    • Design role-based learning journeys aligned to operational and business requirements.
    • Ensure training content supports consistent knowledge across multiple retail locations.

    Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Work closely with subject matter experts across departments to gather information and validate learning content.
    • Translate business needs into effective learning solutions.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Review and update existing training content to ensure accuracy and alignment with business priorities.
    • Monitor learning outcomes and recommend improvements to enhance engagement and effectiveness.

    Interactive Learning Design

    • Incorporate multimedia, assessments, and interactive elements into learning modules where appropriate.
    • Ensure learning content is accessible, practical, and relevant for retail teams.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
    • Proven experience designing LMS-based learning content, ideally within a retail, technology, or customer-facing environment.
    • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
    • Experience creating learning paths, onboarding programmes, and operational training modules.
    • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools and LMS platforms.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and course launches simultaneously.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

    Additional Skills

    • Ability to create basic graphic assets for learning content.
    • Experience editing short-form training videos.
    • Comfortable using AI voiceover or avatar tools for digital learning.
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
