Intermediate Business Analyst (Hybrid Contracting Role) at DeARX Services (Pty) Ltd

• The Intermediate Business Analyst will be responsible for applying a structured set of tasks and techniques to act as a liaison between stakeholders and business units. The role involves understanding business challenges, opportunities, needs, structures, policies, and operations for medium to large projects with medium risk. The BA will be expected to recommend effective business solutions, ensuring alignment between business needs and IT capabilities, and facilitating seamless communication between organizational units.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
• Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements.
• Develop and maintain Business Requirement Specifications (BRS), Functional Specification Documents (FSD), and user stories.
• Act as a liaison between business and IT teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements and solutions.
• Facilitate workshops, JAD sessions, and stakeholder meetings to gather business and functional requirements.
• Define business processes, workflows, and use cases to support system enhancements.
• Assist in system configuration, testing, and implementation to ensure successful delivery.
• Support process optimization by identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
• Testing & Implementation Support
• Collaborate with QA and testing teams to ensure requirements are correctly translated into test cases.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate solutions against business needs.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Business Analysis & Process Modelling (BPMN, UML)
• Excellent stakeholder management & communication
• Experience with Agile & Waterfall SDLC methodologies
• Ability to document clear and concise business & functional requirements
• Understanding of financial services regulations & compliance
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, SQL, and Postman

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Business Analysis, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• Business Analysis Certification (ECBA, CBAP, or similar) Advantageous.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services.
• Proven track record working on medium to large projects with medium risk.
• Experience in banking, insurance, asset management, or other financial sectors.
