We are looking for an experienced Intermediate Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our database systems. You will be involved in database planning, development, and troubleshooting, ensuring seamless operations and supporting our development teams. This role offers an opportunity to grow in a dynamic environment while working with both Windows and Linux systems (Linux experience is beneficial but not required).
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain database systems.
Monitor and optimize database performance through tuning, query management, and implementing upgrades.
Collaborate with development teams to design scalable and reliable database solutions.
Develop disaster recovery and data archiving strategies.
Manage database storage, planning for capacity and future growth.
Provide user support for database access and usage.
Document database configurations, policies, and procedures.
Automate infrastructure deployment and configurations using PowerShell or other scripting tools.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members and stakeholders.
Stay updated on emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
Perform data analysis and create dashboards/reports for business analysis.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and validation processes.
Work with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide tailored solutions.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in database management and administration.
Proficiency in SQL programming, performance tuning, and query optimization.
Familiarity with Linux systems is a plus.
Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery processes.
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in a financial or regulated industry is advantageous.
