    Internal Sales Manager | Aluminium Windows & Hardware | Cape Town

    Job Description

    • Our client in the Aluminium windows and doors hardware industry is looking for an Internal Sales Manager to join their team in Cape Town

    Responsibilities:

    Sales

    • Represent the administrative sales engine for all things sales related, eg quoting, invoicing, credit notes
    • Understand the customer’s business and needs
    • Grow customer count, basket, spend and GP%

    Stock

    • Emphasize selling stock on shelf
    • Consistently reduce excess stock in a deliberate and commercially astute manner

    Market Intel

    • Translate market intel into deliberate tactics to maximise market share, sustainability and profitability
    • Clear fabricator vs distributor strategy implementation
    • Product knowledge leadership
    • Know-your-customer (KYC) - enhance the customer’s business

    People

    • Active custodian of companies core values
    • Active, positive, specific, consistent coordination and management of team
    • Ensuring team members have clear daily, weekly, monthly targets and clear, deliberate, robust tactical plans that support the achievement of those targets
    • Motivator and discipline setter. An ability to read the room and implement action accordingly
    • Proficient in disciplinary action

    Administration

    • Management of age analysis and customer account status before processing orders
    • Adherence to all operating processes
    • Consistent management of Outstanding Sales Order Report
    • Active stock management

    Requirements

    • Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
    • A relevant qualification in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, or Administration would be advantageous
    • 3–5+ years’ experience in internal sales, sales coordination, or branch sales support
    • Previous experience in the aluminium, hardware, building materials, construction supply, or related technical product industry
    • Proven experience in leading or supervising an internal sales team
    • Strong understanding of sales administration, quotations, order processing, and customer account management
    • Sound knowledge of customer service principles and maintaining long-term trade relationships
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven sales environment
    • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage turnover, gross profit, margins, and sales targets
    • Experience with pricing, discount structures, and margin control
    • Good understanding of stock availability, back orders, lead times, and delivery coordination
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word
    • Strong administrative accuracy and attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
    • Professional, confident, and customer-focused approach
    • Ability to coach, motivate, and hold an internal sales team accountable
    • Strong time management, organisation, and follow-through

    Benefits

    • Basic: R35,000 (candidate dependent)
    • Incentive policy: 13th and 14th cheques included in December pay run and dependent upon Company and personal performance as measured vs specific KPIs
