    Description

    EE preferable. We are looking for an Internal Technical Sales Engineer who will provide for the administration of potential and existing customer requirements (quotes, orders, contracts and all related issues) to maximize the company's bookings, while maintaining high level customer service as specified in the company's objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of process instrumentation such as valves, solenoid valves and allied equipment and applications through assistance of field sales personnel, plant visits and training.
    • Knowledge of Syspro accounting system (but not essential).
    • Develop basic selling skills through formal sales training courses and by assisting field sales personnel and distributors.
    • Become familiar with all administrative functions such as quotes, order entry, order tracking, order invoicing, company procedures, expediting orders, reporting, etc...
    • Become familiar with trade compliance rules and regulations.
    • Quote & negotiate follow-on contracts and change orders within the limits set by business unit
    • Process orders, change orders and all related issues within the limits set by business unit management.
    • Exercise good business judgement and discretion when committing company contractually within established policy guidelines
    • Seek input from other internal groups where required
    • Interface effectively with all internal groups to assure professional business relationship with customers.
    • Collect product application information and self-study material.
    • Provide application support to field sales personnel and other staff.
    • Continuous training on products.

    Additional Information

    • Technically minded with minimum of three to five years of relevant work experience with Fluid Control & Pneumatics products / equipment
    • Good communication skills with colleagues and customers
    • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
    • Knowledge of computer based administrative systems (Outlook, Word Excel, Syspro)
    • Knowledge of products within pre-defined scope of business unit
    • Ability to adapt quickly to new situations and/or circumstances
    • Work well within a team
    • Ability to meet people with confidence and reservation

    Basic Qualifications

    • Compulsory matric. Mechanical or Instrumentation Degree or Diploma. Knowledge of Syspro will be advantageous. Knowledge of Process Automation (valves) will be advantageous. Fluid Control & Pneumatics products / equipment. At least 3-5 years working experience in similar field.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Matric compulsory. Mechanical or Instrumentation Degree or Diploma.
