Fitter (TC 38) at Werkie

Key Responsibilities:

• Mechanical Assembly: Assemble and fit mechanical parts, machinery, and structural components.
• Installation: Install pipelines, equipment, and fixtures according to technical drawings and specifications.
• Maintenance & Inspection: Inspect, test, and maintain mechanical systems to ensure proper and safe operation.
• Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose faults and perform repairs or component replacements when necessary.
• Tool Operation: Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to complete fitting tasks.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized working environment.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, welders, and other tradespeople during installation and maintenance processes.

Job Requirements:

• National Senior Certificate.
• Vocational training or apprenticeship in fitting or mechanical trades.
• Trade certification or completed trade test as a qualified fitter.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant mechanical fitting experience.
• Experience within the food or FMCG industry will be advantageous.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and technical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in fitting work.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and workplace safety practices.
