    International Consultancy; Global Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation, Pretoria

    PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

    • Under the supervision of the Child Protection Manager, the consultant will lead the final reporting on programme implementation in South Africa for the Global Promotion of Best Practices for Children in Migration programme in line with the EU reporting regulations. Further, the consultant will 1) conduct a desk-review of existing donor reports from implementing partners and global reports to identify what information we already have for the EU final report template and external report, and 2) identify what the information gaps are – the consultant may need to ask for additional information from implementing partners to fill the gaps. Finally, the consultant will develop a concept note for fundraising.

    SCOPE OF WORK

    • The consultant will help UNICEF South Africa, in collaboration with the two regions and four countries: El Salvador and Mexico in Latin America and the Caribbean Region (LACR); and South Africa and Zambia in Eastern and Southern Africa Region (ESAR) to develop a final donor report in line with the global EU reporting regulations, UNICEF regional and global reporting frameworks.

    • Conduct a desk review of existing information, identify information gaps and develop a template for collecting missing information
    • Develop final narrative report of the EU Global Promotion of Best Practices for Children in Migration programme
    • Draft a Concept note for children on the move fundraising

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

    • A Master’s degree (or higher) in International Development, Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, Social Work, Social Science, Statistics, or other relevant field. 
    • At least ten years of relevant work experience in areas of child protection reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
    • Extensive experience in EU reporting, monitoring and evaluation standards is added advantage
    • Excellent research, analytical, documentation and report writing skills.
    • Minimum four years' experience in research and statistics on migration/forced displacement
    • Proven experience in developing analytical works in the field of migration or related domains.
    • Excellent knowledge of migration data sources at global, regional and national levels is required.
    • Experience delivering results independently and at a distance in a timely fashion.
    • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
