Job Overview
The role of the Investment Operations Team is to monitor the operational activities provided by our external service provider, State Street Bank & Trust Co (SSBT) and to ensure that NinetyOne manages client assets in accordance with the terms of their Investment Management Agreement. The team are responsible for defining operational requirements for the implementation, embedding and maintenance of new products or service requirements. The role will involve frequent and close liaison with personnel of all levels, in both front and back office environments, and requires a candidate who is committed to teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain relationship with Portfolio Managers, Dealers and Performance & Risk teams. Understand their queries and the impact an issue has on their function/process, manage their expectations, and consider changes to avoid a reoccurrence. Understand their process and operational requirements e.g. how improved operational process can support the investment process or to facilitate cost effective trading and settlement in the various markets, and how this can be achieved
Maintain relationship with SSBT and assist with trading and settlement issues
Assist team with oversight function of SSBT duties include:
Transaction processing queries
Transaction processing.
Settlement and trading queries.
Corporate action and proxy voting decisions.
Failed trade reports.
Oversight of cash and stock reconciliations.
Oversight of collateral management services.
Daily system and data reconciliations.
Placing of unit trust transactions.
Maintenance of procedures documentation.
Assist with the implementation of new products, new instruments or new service requirements.
Continually review and update processes and procedures to reduce risk and improve efficiency
Candidate Requirements
Technical Knowledge and Experience:
Newly qualified CA(SA) or B Comm / B Bus Sci or similar degrees with at least 2 years relevant industry and operational experience.
Experience of liaising with individuals at all levels and across business.

Ensuring Compliance training, declarations and relevant forms are completed on a timely basis
Ensuring that firm and client data and property, including IT data, are properly protected
Reporting any possible and actual breaches, errors, complaints or conduct issues.
Reporting any suspicion that a client, investor, or employee may be involved in money laundering, fraud or other crime such as market abuse #LI-DNI
