IT Infrastructure Engineer at Stonehage Fleming

Description    
The position reports to the Head of Cloud and Infrastructure and is based in Cape Town. Other working relationships include all members of the IT team, all users’ worldwide and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities    
OVERALL PURPOSE
The overall purpose of this position is to:
 Manage and maintain Windows Servers, Windows 10, Citrix, Hyper-V and VMware systems

• Actively monitor systems and networks to proactively avoid production incidents
• Resolve escalated issues and coach other IT members on effective case resolution
• Participate to applications packaging work and Windows patching on a continuous basis
• Analyse backups of systems and ensure all backup jobs are running smoothly
• Analyse network devices and firewalls configuration and suggest amending as required for new applications
• Participate to the remote maintenance of infrastructure in datacentre and branches
• Write procedures, create and maintain documentation of all components of the infrastructure stack
• Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and in coordination with the Head of Infrastructure
• Work closely with other team members to address customer requests
• Assist in any Infrastructure related work and troubleshoot systems to establish root cause analysis
• Create Visio documentations, write standard operation procedures and knowledge articles
• Adhere to team decisions and help deliver tangible results to the business
• Participate to out-of-business hours infrastructure maintenance and emergency support for incidents

 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Qualified to graduate level
• 1 - 3 Years of industry related experience
• Microsoft MCSA or MCSE and Citrix CCA-V or CCP-V highly valued

SKILLS

• English at business level
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows Server including Hyper-V
• Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, NTFS permissions and RBAC
• Good knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop including VMware vCenter
• Good knowledge of Exchange Server, SCCM and Endpoint Manager (Intune) and/or Airwatch
• Good scripting abilities and interest for Infrastructure as Code concepts
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking
• Willingness to learn new technologies at a fast pace in a constantly evolving environment
• Flexibility, well developed sense of organization and personal responsibility
• General knowledge of Cyber Security, Networks, Firewalls and Linux
