The main purpose of this role is to provide key technical expertise to aid with Infrastructure and Security requirements we have in place. The successful candidate will report directly into our Global Infrastructure Lead and will be expected to work closely with the IT department to provide support across the business.
What you will do
Provide expertise with Microsoft Office 365 configuration, Improvements and migrations
Work with the global lead to undertake maintenance activities to ensure that the servers (both Cloud & On-Premise) are secure to make sure IT infrastructure remains available and 'fit for purpose'
Perform 1st, 2nd and 3rd line incident management for Desktop and Server Infrastructure Technologies
Ensure security compliance of the IT infrastructure by carrying out remedial actions as required
Take ownership of Change control processes to maintain good levels of compliance
Backup and DR of the complete IT infrastructure, this includes monthly reporting
Understanding of mobility/Bring Your Own (BYO) management concepts for Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Android, and iOS MDMs
Support the Infrastructure Department with project support when required
Infrastructure innovation, in line with business plans and software development
Manage the provision of comprehensive user training for new and existing IT systems throughout the business
Manage the LMS knowledge base environments, to provide a complete learning platform for users. Lead on user training to keep user up-to-date with industry changes
Ordering of IT hardware and Software equipment and maintain an effective inventory / asset register
Support the systems administrator(s) with BAU support, providing an escalation point for high-level users and issues
Develop an understanding of ISO 27001 and assist with audits, compliance and policy development
Out of hours work to support global teams when required
What we are looking for
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office & Windows10/windows11 all modern variants and Office 365 + Mac
Solid technical experience in supporting Microsoft server infrastructure (hardware and software)
Senior Engineer experience, generally focused around mentoring junior members of the team
Experienced engineer with an excellent record of server infrastructure, medium and large schedule rolls of Cloud first infrastructures
Experience of working with MS windows server 2012/R2, ADFS, AD MS SharePoint, Exchange, PowerShell, Skype for business, Teams, O365, Intune, Watchguard products
Working knowledge and experience of Hyper-V is essential
Experience of SQL server management
Technical experience Office 365 and administration of MS Azure
Be able to demonstrate advanced networking skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Microsoft PowerApps and power platform builds
Experience supporting Azure DevOP’s platforms, Maintain Blob Storage as well as other Microsoft cloud technologies
Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, be willing to go the extra mile and suggest improvements to departmental processes
Excellent communication skills at all levels, be able to provide updates to the relevant individuals / teams as and when necessary
Solid understanding of General IT equipment e.g., Switch, routers, RAM etc.
Experience in cybersecurity is desirable
Experience of 27001 is desirable (not audit level)
Experience designing and implementing CRM Systems is desirable
