IT Intern (Developer) - 6 Month Contract at Airbus DS Optronics (Pty) Ltd

• The South African subsidiary of a world market leader in the helicopter industry, is recruiting for an IT Intern. Able to actively engage in and assist with projects initiatives and key improvements.
• The IT intern will be responsible for leading and improving analytical programs and present the results of your business unit.
• Analysing the variable, granular data of the required business unit and regularly use advanced models to deliver insights.
• Answering and anticipating critical questions and deliver insights regarding the required information.
• Demonstrate use of data visualization (Tableau, Power BI, Excel), and analytic tools (Python, R, SQL, KNIME/Alteryx) to grasp the business insights from our mountains of data.
• Collaborate to improve key business priorities based on your data-driven insights.

Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor’s or degree in Information Systems (Operation Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, Statistics, Physics, Analytics, etc.) or equivalent work experience on a part time basis.
• Experience using analytics techniques (AI/Machine Learning, Econometrics, Operations Research, Statistics, Root Cause Diagnostics) to tackle defined business problems.
• Ability to demonstrate, translate, and communicate sophisticated data into simple conclusions and business actions.
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to deliver a clear story to influence agreement to your recommendations with data and insights.
• Data management and visualization skills/tools in one or more of the following: Databricks, SQL, KNIME, Tableau, Power BI, JMP/SPSS or similar).
• Self-motivated to work with diverse business scenarios, prioritizing multiple priorities, and have a business and consultancy mind-set, while technically (data) savvy, and passionate about discovering new/innovative ways of doing things.
• Minimum Qualification - Completed relevant undergrad degree
• Extensive knowledge using VBA (Visual Basic for Application)
• ITIL and PMP qualification would be advantageous
• Microsoft server related certification
• VMware vSphere related certification
• Cisco networking related certification
• Fortinet firewalls related certification
