IT Project Manager at Potentiam Limited

Purpose of role

• The role of a Project Manager involves the efficient delivery of individual projects, ensuring they are completed within the specified scope, budget, and timeline. This role includes overseeing project teams, managing stakeholders, and contributing to process improvements to enhance project delivery. The Project Manager focuses on leading teams to achieve project goals while maintaining alignment with organisational objectives and industry best practices.

Duties and responsibilities 

Project Leadership and Delivery

• Lead individual projects across various business units, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
• Oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
• Ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Lead project teams by setting clear goals, providing direction, and maintaining a positive team environment.
• Facilitate project progress, removing obstacles and managing risks.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective measures as necessary to meet objectives.

Resource and Financial Management

• Coordinate and manage resources to ensure successful project execution.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Monitor and control project costs, ensuring financial health throughout the project lifecycle and communicate overages (if any) where applicable

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
• Provide regular updates and reports on project status, key milestones, risks, and issues.
• Facilitate meetings, presentations, and reports to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Risk and Quality Management

• Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies where necessary.
• Conduct quality reviews throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon standards.
• Manage the resolution of any quality issues that arise during the project.

Skills/Experience 

Required Experience

• 2 years minimum of project management experience in a similar role with the ability to ensure project delivery within defined scope, time, and cost constraints. 
• Professional certifications at a minimum foundational level such as PMP, Prince2, Agile or similar preferred.
• Experience working with business stakeholders in a cross-functional matrix environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects through the full lifecycle, from initiation to delivery.
• Proficient in project management tools and software.
• A MSP / IT services company background advantageous, with exposure to delivering Infrastructure / Cloud and Managed Services projects hugely desirable.
• Commercially minded with experience in owning & managing project financials.
• Experienced in delivering multiple projects concurrently. 
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborator.
