    IT Project Manager

    To enable and deliver quality organisational change of measurable benefit in a structured, controlled, predictable manner by motivating and leading teams to work effectively and transparently, keeping all stakeholders fully informed.

    Qualifications and Experience  

    • Minimum Business, Science or Engineering Degree; Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), Prince 2 Certification, Postgraduate Project Management course and/or Project Risk Management course advantageous
    • 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager in an Investment Bank (IB)
    • 10+ years of experience as IT Applications Project Manager
    • Good understanding of the technology behind IB operations
    • Experience with business transformation projects, operating model changes
    • Investment Banking industry acumen
    • Be mentor and leader during this transformational project
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and good presentation skills, experience facing off to senior management

    Responsibilities  

    • Manage scope of work, budget, timeframes and quality of deliverables
    • Take necessary measures to manage potential risks
    • Consider processes, business, technology and people to implement changes
    • Communicate with stakeholders frequently to keep them informed and up-to-date
    • Facilitate process to allocate and secure resources to projects
    • Verify times and value captured by project team against the project
    • Complete project dashboard accurately and timeously
    • Coordinate day to day tasks and elimination of obstacles
    • Clarify responsibilities in the team
    • Enable a high performing environment
    • Ensure adherence to PMO minimum standards
    • Produce agreed artefacts according to PMO minimum standards, including:
      • Sizing
      • Scoping
      • Costing
      • Baseline Project Plans
      • Risk Management
      • Quality Plan
      • Communication
    • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the minimum standards and suggest necessary changes to PMO if necessary
    • Follow the official procurement process to engage with any software, professional or managed services vendors
    • Adhere to RMB policies surrounding contractors
    • Ensure correct invoicing processes are followed
    • Ensure contractor on-boarding process is followed correctly
    • Partake in software contract negotiation when need be
    • Be familiar with and execute all legal processes
    • Provide feedback to vendors on contractor performance
    • Build and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders, displaying excellent abilities to initiate dialogue, listen, advise, influence and negotiate to achieve win-win outcomes
    • Initiate meetings with key stakeholders to track progress, manage expectations and ensure stakeholders’ requirements are delivered
    • Preserves relationships despite airing conflicting views and seeks mutual gains when addressing conflicts
    • Anticipates consequences and adapts problem solving based on continual feedback
    • Act speedily to resolve problems, queries and complaints
    • Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences
    • Take full responsibility for performance management of all direct reports, managing their performance in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives, focusing on all aspects of sound people management:

      • Career path planning
      • On-the-job training, coaching & mentoring
    • Ensure appropriate levels of management and accountability
    • Motivate, delegate and empower appropriately, enabling direct reports to take responsibility and display appropriate creativity and initiative
    • Work with the team to actively grow their skills and lead them in operational excellence
    • Define performance contracts for staff members
    • Monitor staff performance against agreed service levels and agreed performance contracts
    • Run bi-weekly team meetings to ensure measurable and valuable feedback on daily operations and in line with agreed performance contracts
