Junior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at South African National Parks (SANParks)

Requirements

• Valid SACAA AME TYPE Lisence in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Mechanical or Avionics).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working on helicopters, preferably Airbus H125
• Strong understanding of aviation safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to work in a remote and challenging environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
• A passion for conservation and wildlife protection is a plus.
• Should have a driver’s License Code 08.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Type rating or certification on Airbus H125 helicopters.
• Experience in remote or bush operations.
• Knowledge of SANParks operations and conservation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on helicopters in compliance with aviation regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist senior engineers with major maintenance tasks and modifications.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Ensure all tools, equipment, and workspaces are maintained to the highest standards.
• Collaborate with pilots and operations teams to ensure aircraft readiness and safety.
• Stay updated on technical developments and best practices in helicopter maintenance.
