Are you a recently qualified Electrical Engineering graduate looking for your first opportunity to gain practical, hands-on technical experience?
This is an ideal entry-level opportunity for a motivated junior candidate who wants to learn from experienced Technicians while developing practical electrical, maintenance and fault-finding skills.
The position is particularly suitable for someone who has recently completed an N6 or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering and wants to establish a technical career.
Minimum Requirements
N6 or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Ideally recently qualified with limited or no formal work experience.
Strong interest in electrical, technical and maintenance work.
Willingness to learn and develop practical, hands-on skills.
Reliable, hardworking and able to follow technical instructions.
Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
Able to work effectively as part of a technical team.
Valid driver's licence advantageous but not essential.
Willing and able to travel to customer and job sites with Technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Assist experienced Technicians with servicing, maintenance, installations and repairs.
Accompany Technicians to customer premises and job sites.
Assist with basic electrical fault finding, troubleshooting and equipment testing.
Prepare tools, equipment, components and materials for service calls.
Assist with preventative maintenance and routine equipment servicing.
Learn to interpret technical manuals, schematics and manufacturer guidelines.
Assist with removing, replacing and installing faulty components.
Learn to use technical tools, diagnostic equipment and testing instruments correctly.
Maintain clean, organised and safe working areas.
Participate in practical training, learning activities and assessments.
Follow company procedures and occupational health and safety requirements.
Develop practical technical knowledge under the guidance of experienced Technicians.
