Agricultural research and technology development in a team context or individually under guidance.
Good planning and management of research activities, including aspects such as effective use of facilities and resources, problem solving and liaison with experts.
Effective handling of personnel regarding utilization, training and evaluation as well as maintaining good working relations within the team.
Proper management of budgets in compliance with financial policies/procedures to ensure that projects are managed in a cost-effective and proactive manner.
Ensuring the successful completion of research projects in compliance with set standards.
Compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and procedures.
Marketing and promoting Agrometeorology services/products to relevant role-players.
Involvement in campus activities such as research committees, section meetings and seminars.
Requirements
MSc in Agrometeorology.
Proven research background in climate variability and change impacts on agriculture.
1-2 years of research experience in the relevant field and experience of working in a research team.
One scientific peer-reviewed publication will be an added advantage.
Ability to work with communities and conduct fieldwork.
Willingness to travel away from home for intermediate periods.
