Laboratory Assistant - Durban Mill at PepsiCo

Responsibilities

QUALITY

• Follow food safety procedures
• Follow good manufacturing practices and Good Laboratory Practices
• Make sure every analysis result is within the product specification
• Compile the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every product batch packed

RISK CONTROL

• Ensure housekeeping is maintained at all times
• Clean equipment , utensils and work area
• Ensure all the chemicals used for the different analysis are stored in the chemical cupboard and locked
• Ensure that the Glass breakage procedure is followed when there is breakage in the Lab
• When there is a spillage make sure that the floor is clear as soon as possible
• Ensure that personal safety equipment is in use at all times as required by the safety regulations e.g earplugs must be worn in production at all times

Qualifications

• Diploma: Food Technology (or equivalent in experience)
• 1-3 Laboratory Experience
• Experience with GC
• Computer Literacy
• Written & Oral communication
