Laboratory Assistant - Krugersdorp at PepsiCo

Job Overview:

• Prepare test samples of material used in production, in components and conducts routine physical and chemical to ensure conformity to established specifications.
• Analyses qualitative and quantitative test by recording and computing pertinent data. May maintain laboratory equipment and for ordering replacement parts when necessary. Reports to supervisor.
• Prepare and maintain laboratory ingredients and equipment
• Sample raw materials, packaging and finished products
• Test routine raw materials, packaging and finished products
• Analyse and computed data and recorded information
• Apply laboratory hygiene and safety procedure experience in quality control within a food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GLP, Food safety and quality systems
• Strong attention to details with the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies
• Good understanding of hygiene, product grading and quality standards
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment
• Accurate record keeping and reporting skills
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work shifts, holidays and weekends

Qualifications

• 1-3 years relevant experience in a Laboratory
• Diploma in Food Technology/Biotechnology (or equivalent)
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong attention to details and accuracy
• Good organisational and time management skills
