    Forklift Driver - Epping

    Job Overview:

    • To ensure the safe, efficient and timely movement of raw materials, bins and finished goods within the inbound intake area. The role supports uninterrupted production by supplying raw materials on time, executing safe loading/offloading of trucks and maintaining correct bin stacking in accordance with site safety, food safety and operational standards.

    Intake

    • Conduct daily pre‑operation inspections of the forklift and immediately report non‑conformances.
    • Safely operate the forklift to offload raw material trucks and inbound product during intake season.
    • Transport and supply raw materials to production lines according to the production schedule.
    • Offload and load empty bins to/from depots and ensure correct and safe stacking.
    • Manage the flow of bins arriving from production over the rail and stack them in the designated areas.
    • Identify, remove and report damaged bins.
    • Maintain cleanliness of the forklift and immediate working area (including weekly deep clean of the forklift).
    • Ensure raw materials are placed in correct fumigation rooms and stored according to food safety requirements.

    Additional tasks:

    • Planning: The Forklift Driver draws up his/her own plan based on information provided by Production Supervisors of both departments.
    • The machine’s downtime is measured by Overall Efficiency Effectiveness (OEE) system. The Forklift Driver can influence the OEE of the machines when he fails to supply raw material on time. The Forklift Driver plan and prioritise the machine supplies as per the production plan.

    EHS Specialist - Parow

    Overview

    • We are looking for a EHS Specialist who will be based at our Parow Plant Snacks in the Western Cape.
    • Successful incumbent will implement procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and GEHSMS, ISO45001, ISO14001 and PepsiCo standards. Ensure compliance to applicable Regulations and By-Laws. Manage and maintain insurance certification.

    Responsibilities

    • Scheduling/Managing of respective SHE Committee meetings in the Parow Plant – Manufacturing & Warehousing
    • Conduct monthly & annual EHS Steering Group meetings with the senior team.
    • Review and approve the minutes of the meetings and maintaining the records for continuous or future reference.

    • Role will be responsible for the protection of our people and Assets in Eastern Cape. Three (3) Premises . FTE of  550.

    Accountabilities: 

    • In line with the Country broader strategy, implement the Site Security Plan to identify, assess and mitigate risks to PepsiCo’s associates, facilities, proprietary information, and brand/reputation.
    • Form part of the Site Crisis ManagementTeam, with execution of security functions as part of the Business Continuity Plans of the premises.
    • Ensure that the premises is compliant with the Site security plan (technological ,Procedural, Manned guarding ,Architectural )
    • Maintain strong working relationships with, and provide consultation to, local management teams.
    • Plan and oversee periodic security self-assessments and bi-annual security risk assessment on the premises in order to identify critical vulnerabilities and to assist in closing these risks through cost-effective, best practice security enhancements.
    • Develop and maintain working relationships with national and local security, emergency response, law enforcement, and regulatory authorities as well as with security managers of other large multinational companies.
    • Ensure compliance with PepsiCo EMEA Security Risk Management System and supporting standards and procedures.
    • Assist in delivering security awareness for PepsiCo associates and training programs to security associates.
    • Advise and assist before, during and after security incidents, including on-the-spot risk assessments and security advice to site leaders.
    • Assist the Area Security Manager/Asst Area Security Manager in implementing security plans to strengthen the protection of our supply chain (Make/Move/Sell).
    • Assist the Area Security Manager/Asst Area Security Manager in implementing security plans to strengthen the protection of our supply chain (Make/Move/Sell).
    • Assist in Conducting and coordinate investigations to include counterfeit, extortion, contamination of our products, loss reduction, kidnapping, robberies, Speak Up, fraud, corruption, and security threats against the country’s interests and associates.
    • During strike operations or labor disputes provide training to security guards and employees in strike protocols.
    • Oversee security guard companies to leverage economies of scale and lower costs. Implement and manage a effective KPI management system in accordance with Sector Security, and evaluate the service provided by the 3P Security providers on a monthly basis.
    • Manage the 3P Security Providers and evaluate their service on a monthly basis according to the set KPI’s.
    • Ensure the continued professional development of his/her security team, to include the identification of suitable individuals in longer-term succession planning.
    • Implementation of all Security Policies, Plans and Site SOP’s
    • Report Incidents immediately to Line Manager and ensure compiling of reports according to Security Policies.
    • To review the recording of CCTV on a daily basis to ensure that there are no irregularities.
    • In conjunction with Control Room Co-ordinator provide the required evidence in the event of any security incident and support EHS on any Safety Incidents evidence if and when required

    Qualifications

    • Ability to work in a dynamic and rapidly expanding business environment;
    • A minimum of 5 years of working experience; 3 years Security experience in private sector (preferably industrial sectors) with accountabilities and key measures listed above;
    • Knowledge of best security practices, principles and objectives;
    • Well-refined interpersonal skills;
    • Security PSIRA ( Grade A) qualification.
    • A working proficiency of written and spoken English.
    • Ability to work among a team of peers.
    • Ability to work in a challenging environment and to be connected 24/7.
    • Excellent organizational skills to be able to prioritize responsibilities meet deadlines and work in a multi-task environment
