Laboratory Technician: Chemistry - Kimberley at Vaal Central Water

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receiving and recording samples for quality work as per predetermined specifications.
• Distribute samples to different labs for analysis within quality standards.
• Responsible for well-prepared calibration standards and quality control for all instruments.
• Timeous completion of transfer checks and report calculation results.
• Conduct analysis on advanced instrumentation.
• Compile, implement and validate test methods
• Compile quality control charts to confirm the accuracy of and performance of instruments.
• Timeous completion of transfer checks and reporting of results
• Assess chemical stock levels and control stationary orders for scientific services.
• Ensure instruments are calibrated and perform accurately
• Execute quality work as per predetermined quality standards.
• Record and report accurate results in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017
• Perform any other related duties as required from time to time.
• Observe all Health and Safety protocols and procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

• National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Lab Technician Chemistry.
• 1 year experience in an accredited laboratory (operation and maintenance of specialized instrumentation).
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017
• Competent in MS Office.
• Report writing skills.
• Valid Drivers’ License.
