Lecturer: Mathematics & Applied Mathematics - Science at Nelson Mandela University

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

• To facilitate teaching and learning in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at undergraduate and postgraduate level, to contribute to the administration of the department as needed, and to undertake research.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Develop course material for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching modules
• Specialise in Functional Analysis, Abstract Algebra or Discreet Mathematics
• Perform teaching-related and departmental administrative duties
• Conduct research and publish results in peer-reviewed scientific journals
• Interact with relevant industry groups, government departments and independent research institutes to further the goals of the Department and of the University.
• Participate in community services.

REQUIREMENTS
 
Lecturer

• Minimum qualification is a MSc (Pure Mathematics) degree. A PhD (Pure Mathematics) degree is an added advantage
• MSc Degree: With minimum 2 years of relevant teaching experience at university level.
• PhD Degree: With minimum 1 year of relevant teaching experience at university level.
