Lecturer Post : Somatology : Ref: 20001875 at Durban University of Technology

Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Somatology or equivalent field
• A minimum of at least 3-year academic experience in Higher Education
• Good Communication and Interpersonal skills.
• Preference will be given to applicants who are registered for a PhD

 Additional Recommendations:         

• Experience with e-learning
• Computer literacy in MSWord, PowerPoint and internet usage.
• Proficiency in research or tertiary education instruction will be an advantage.
• Experience in curriculum development.

Summary of Duties: 

• Teaching and assessment of modules/ subjects in the Department of Somatology
• Research participation and supervision of research students.
• Preparation and development of learning / teaching materials and facilitation of practicals.
• Involvement in curriculum development.
• Provide academic support to facilitate student success.
• Involvement in community engagement initiatives organized by the department/faculty.
• Participate in Faculty and University wide activities and functions.
• Administrative and auxiliary duties in line with the above functions.
• Any other duties assigned by the head of department.
• Represent the department as necessary on institutional committees and professional forums.
• The successful candidate, if appointed as a lecturer, will be required to complete a doctoral degree within years of appointment
