    Lecturer(Ref. 1416): Department: Architecture

    Minimum requirements: 

    • An NQF level 9 Architectural degree (e.g. M. Arch). 
    • A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline may be considered provided that a foundational NQF level 7 architectural qualification has also been achieved. 
    • At least three (3) year’s teaching experience at a higher education institution or 3 years professional experience at PR Arch level. 

    Additional requirements: 

    • SACAP accredited primary qualifications. 
    • Good communication skills and providing discipline specific support to students in Zulu 
    • Skills and expertise in social media and architectural drawing and presentation 
    • Acumen towards operating with defined systems and requirements 
    • A strong passion for teaching and research. 
    • Experience in managing implementation of architectural related software and hardware 
    • Team player with interest in moving the department towards excellence. 
    • Practice based experience with in-depth construction technology knowledge 
    • Implementing and running community engagement projects as part of employment at an educational institution. 

    Summary of duties 

    • Curriculum development. 
    • Development teaching and learning material. 
    • Lecturing, assessment and supervision. 
    • Engaging in research and publications. 
    • Facilitating departmental community engagement projects. 
    • Assistance with administrative and other duties as prescribed by the Head of Department or representative as delegated. 
    • Participating in broader institutional for a providing discipline specific support to students in Zulu 
    • Managing Departmental social media activities and content
