The Position
As our Manager, Legal, Ethics & Compliance (Obesity LEC), you will hold overall Key account manager and subject matter expert on LEC (Legal, Ethic, Compliance) matters related to Obesity business (50%) and manage all compliance matter is our affiliate (50%). You will be a member of IO Obesity LEC Network and be part of local teams where compliance issues will be discussed.
This role is based in Johannesburg, and directly reports to Director, Legal, Ethic and Compliance, South Africa.
Your key accountabilities will be:
- Drive IO Obesity LEC priorities at affiliate level in close collaboration with direct manager, LoB, affiliate, regional and IO VP Obesity LEC, securing holistic ownership and accountability of key Obesity activities.
- Act as subject matter expert on LEC matters related in the Affiliate, and sparring partner for affiliate management on Obesity and other initiatives and projects.
- Proactively drive compliance by design and strategic integration of ethics in decision making for in the affiliate.
- Drive proactive risk management initiatives in the affiliate and implement adequate mitigating actions.
- Contribute to building/nurturing IO Obesity LEC organization/network incl. capability building with active networking, better practice and& knowledge transfer across IO regions and affiliates.
Qualification
- As our Legal, Ethics & Compliance Manager you need to have thorough knowledge of business ethics in a relevant industry. Understanding Regulatory Framework of in South Africa is preferred. Knowledge of anticorruption and antimony laundering regulations will be appreciated.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- 5+ years of relevant LEC experience.
- Demonstrated track record in successfully leading a org. new area and driving change at an affiliate or regional level.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with stakeholders at various organization levels quickly.
- Proven ability to influence and solve complex problems involving multiple stakeholders.
- Firm understanding of multicultural impact on business relationships including experience in working in an international context and environment.

You have the ability to manage complexity, fast changing environment and undertake decisions and responsibility, while having an awareness of cultural differences and problem-solving capabilities, you are trusted legal advisor, high performer, goal oriented and good at time management.
